We recruit local youths to be solar ambassadors in their communies. We train the ambassadors & equip them with the skills they need to attract customers and manage solar product activations.

DISTRIBUTING
PRODUCTS

We distribute products to customers, gradually taking payments over over several weeks – customers must pay in order for their products to be activated.

CUSTOMER
SERVICE & INSIGHT

Ambassadors offer on-going customer service and retain a relationship with customers so as to gather customer insights and feed these back into the business.

Ambassadors are trained to use a range of mobile apps for product activations, payments and other functions

Our team of area managers provide a support structure and on-going mentorship to help ambassadors grow.

delivery

Motorbikes are used to distribute products and take payments in rural areas, getting more people on the grid.

Pay-G
payment model

Products are distributed with a pay-as-you-go mode of payment, with ambassadors returning each day to take payment. This works to minimise bad debts and other payment collection problems.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & INSIGHT

Customers have access to a 24/7 support team who can be contacted in case of product difficulties or malfunctions.

2 Year
warranty

Altech provides 2-year warranty cover for customers for product technical malfunction.

Ongoing
feedback

We use the Open Data Kit platform to collect customer feedback after distributing products. This helps us continually refine and improve our service.
